You can’t escape accountability by obscuring the truth! EZEMA’s puplic relations statment ( H.W tikus mereja by Hilina.S )🇪🇹

Statement from (EZEMA )Ethiopian Public Relations.

You can’t escape accountability by obscuring the truth!
A committee of members of the National Executive Committee has been set up to investigate the allegations of land grabbing and unfair distribution of condominiums in Addis Ababa. A press release was issued on Friday, August 28, 2012 to make the findings public and to the media.
As we have done in the past, we have informed the FDRE Ministry of Peace in a letter to the hotel where the press conference will be held, as well as to the Ministry of Peace (695/12).
How ever Police disbanded the the statment to be made by today . The reason given by the police for stopping the press release was that we had not been ordered to hold the press conference.
EZEMA leaders present at the scene cooperated and informed the Ministry of Peace in a letter to the police. They called the Ministry of Peace and reported the incident to the Ministry, and police were contacted by telephone with the Ministry of Peace. But police responded: “The Ministry of Peace can only allow meetings, not press conferences. The issue is with the police. ” They insisted on denying the statement. Following this, a press release issued by the Ethiopian Citizens for Social Justice (EZEMA) to disseminate its findings on the ongoing land grabbing and unfair distribution of condominiums in Addis Ababa was disrupted.
Law enforcement officers who could not stop the illegal looting and looting of Addis Ababa land yesterday ,blocked a legally issued press conference. In the effort to build a democratic system that guarantees the rule of law we did not stop yesterday as we did today; It does not stop us today! It should be clear that trying to avoid accountability by suppressing the freedom of expression of citizens and political parties and distorting the truth is an obstacle to democracy. It is impossible to obscure the truth and avoid accountability by interfering with today’s statement.
In the past, we asked the mayor’s office, the land development bureau, and the housing development agency to respond to our findings, but all of them refused to accept the letter, as well as the land development bureau and housing agency.
Ethiopian Citizens for Social Justice (EZEMA) will make public the illegality of the study on Monday, September 1, 2012 at 8:00 AM. We have again sent a letter to the Minister of Peace of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Addis Ababa Police Commission informing them that we will not back down from our constitutional right to freedom of expression and that we will share our findings with the public.
