The attack on the Ethiopian embassy in Berlin is unacceptable, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said
The Ethiopian Foreign Ministry said it was saddened by the recent attack on the Ethiopian embassy in Berlin, Germany.
Ethiopian State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Redwan Hussein, said in a telephone interview with a representative of the German Embassy in Addis Ababa that there was a lack of protection for Ethiopians who had taken control of the embassy.
“We are saddened that Germany has not taken the necessary action against those who committed such acts against the Ethiopian embassy,” Redwan said.
State Minister Redwan said Ethiopia recognizes the right of citizens to protest, adding that even protests should not disrupt the normal functioning of the embassy.
Representative of the German Embassy in Addis Ababa, Heiko Nizake, for his part, said the attack on the Ethiopian embassy in Berlin was unacceptable.
The German Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its Facebook page that it would monitor the situation closely and take necessary remedial action.
